My approach to healing trauma is to involve the body in therapy and to begin to process trauma emotionally for deeper healing. I employ a trauma-informed approach, which can help increase feelings of safety and security along with allowing for greater control over the direction of therapy. I am a certified Brainspotting therapist. I am also Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) informed. I enjoy working with those who have experienced complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and codependency.
As an adult adoptee, I am passionate about working with other adoptees and helping heal all kinds of trauma. I have contributed to the books The Adoptee Survival Guide (2015) and Adoption Therapy: Perspectives from clients and clinicians on processing and
healing post-adoption issues (2014). I have also been a speaker at the Indiana Adoptee Network Conference (2018).
I completed my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. I currently hold an Associate License for counseling in Indiana, and I am pursuing becoming fully licensed. Feel free to reach out to me at lisa@greenhouseindy.com
