August First Friday Featuring Daniel Shoop
Time & Location
About the Event
We are excited and honored to host Daniel Shoop at The Green House Indy for our August First Friday.
Daniel had been drawing since childhood but inspired by the breadth of Museum masterpieces, he took a turn at painting, specifically with acrylic. Despising his first attempts, he quit for year and returned to drawing to hone his talent and then returned to painting with more expertise and self assurance.
Despite his lack of professional instruction and the added handicap of color blindness, Daniel’s skill continued to improve and his creative process grew to incorporate photography to capture his subject matter.
He began teaching History and coaching Girls Cross Country and Track at Carmel High School in 1968 and found his enjoyment for painting women in sports as well as local horse shows.
He has shown his work at the Carmel Soho Gallery, The Carmel Public Library and a gallery in Monticello. He currently has pieces hung at the University of Virginia.
Please join us to view and celebrate the work of Daniel Shoop!
